Hit the Switch - How Dave Morell and HIS family found strength in surviving cancer
For over 50 years, Dave Morell has been a pillar in the community, but perhaps he is most recognized as the voice of sports broadcasting in Fredericton.
However, his life changed drastically when he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. He and his family are sharing their story of courage, survival and teamwork in their candid struggle against losing hope and finding one other.
The foundation, in partnership with Dave and his family, are selling limited-quantities of his book Hit the Switch - One Family’s Journey Through Cancer.
Known amongst nurses and doctors as the “poster boy” for how to deal with a cancer diagnosis, Dave’s book also recognized the hard work of the staff at Horizon’s Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Pictures here are of family, friends and loved ones who have helped Dave in his amazing journey battling cancer.
Dave Morell’s Daughter Shelley share her experience supporting her father’s journey towards recovery.
All sale proceeds go towards the oncology department at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Copies of book will also be provided, free of charge, to newly diagnosed cancer patients at the hospital.
The virtual launch of Hit the Switch: One Family’s Journey With Cancer @ 2 PM Tuesday, June 22nd hosted by the Fredericton Public Library.
Dave Morell will be joined by his former radio co-host Brad Woodside and Chalmers Foundation Executive Director Gilles Allain to chat about the book and the project.
