Update: Health Blooms 2013
Our Health Blooms 2013 was once again a success! Thanks to all who came out to the breakfast and supported this wonderful cause of updating the monitoring system in our Intensive Care Unit.
Health Blooms 2013 raised approx. $151,575! Thanks to our sponsors and supporters for exceeding our goal of $150,000!
What is Health Blooms?
The Health Blooms campaign runs annually in partnership with CBC to bring stories from our hospital to the community. Through television, radio, and public events, the campaign appeals to the community for their support by interviewing donors, fundraising volunteers, and patients. Patient stories are aired during the campaign on Information Morning with Terry Seguin and on CBC News with Harry Forestell. During the campaign, $1.00 tulip cards are sold at retail venues throughout the city and displayed on their walls to show support. This 2 week campaign wraps up with a breakfast and radio telethon in which Information Morning will broadcast live during this time. The community is encouraged to drop by for breakfast, check out some great entertainment and make a pledge or donation!
Each year the money raised from our Health Blooms campaign goes toward supporting a specific hospital project. Past projects have included the establishment of a new cardiac diagnostics unit, the purchase of new monitors for the emergency room and Intensive Care Unit and the critical updating of equipment in the gastrointestinal lab. This year the Hospital Foundation in partnership with the Hospital Auxiliary is raising funds for their “ICU Making a Difference” campaign to purchase a new and improved monitoring system for the Intensive Care Unit.
Sponsorship of Health Blooms provides many marketing opportunities, including recognition through radio, television, newspaper and promotional materials. Find out more about sponsorship opportunities (link to pdf download of sponsorship opportunities document).
