Current Projects

The new Cardiac Diagnostic program, which will be made possible by Your Health – Your Heart campaign, will have expanded space in a newly renovated, dedicated unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, with new state of the art equipment bringing together the current ECG and ECHO departments.

The expansion will bring together critical services in the most efficient manner using the best health care practices.  Patients will receive care in one integrated, central location just steps from the doctors, nurses and new equipment.  Community Hospitals and Health Centres will receive technology upgrades that will enable them to consult with doctors at the Regional Hospital remotely, cutting down diagnostic times and patient trips to Fredericton for patients.

John Beers, Retired Fire Chief, CFB Gagetown - “Survivor”

At the age of 65, John decided to take up Karate. He worked out at the gym several days a week as well as participated in three weekly Karate classes.  In September 2004, John was preparing for his black belt testing, when, as he puts it, “I started to feel funny”.  He thought, like most, that he had a touch of the flu.  The next three and half years were spent between hospitals in Oromocto, Fredericton, Saint John and Halifax; stress tests, stint insertions, angioplasty, by-pass surgery and finally a pacemaker.

It’s been a long painful road but John still has total faith in our healthcare system from his family physician, Dr. Fraser, the two internists, Drs. Jeffrey Moore and Richard Harvey, to the wonderful, caring nurses and the “girls that delivered my meals” John says.  “I take my medication, I live as active as I can and I enjoy life.  I wake up each morning to the most beautiful women in the world, my wife Brenda.  I can still enjoy the peace and tranquility of my two dogs Sadie and Tilley and I have total faith in my healthcare team”.
